Admission requirements

Minimum admission requirements

To be considered for admission to this program, you must meet minimum academic criteria:

  1. Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
  2. Achievement of the minimum average for your program of choice.
  3. Completion of Grade 12 English (or equivalent course).

Admission to many ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøprograms is competitive. This means that meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

Program-specific admission requirements

In addition to meeting Dalhousie’s general admission requirements and completing the online undergraduate application form, applicants must provide:

  • Official transcripts for previous academic study

  • One letter of reference (academic or professional)

  • Resume/curriculum vitae

  • Mature students: Include a letter indicating your activities since leaving high school and how you plan to successfully complete the Diploma in Emergency Health Services Management if you are admitted.Ìý

  • International students: If your first language is not English, you must provide proof that you meet Dalhousie’s English Language requirements.

Program options

The DEHSM can be completed full-time in one-year or on a part-time basis. Some students start by earning one, or both, of our 3-credit certificates in EHS Planning and EHS Management, and apply the credits they’ve earned toward the DEHSM. The credits you earn as part of the DEHSM may be transferred to other undergraduate programs.

What you will learn

The DEHSM is a 10-credit, one-year program that is delivered completely online. In your first semester you’ll start by exploring topics related to healthcare planning and finances as well as laws pertaining to health. In your second semester you’ll dive into more in-depth topics such as management processes and human resources issues pertaining to EHS.Ìý
