Through the Bringing Worlds Together campaign, the Faculty of Engineering is focusing its efforts under three pillars:

1. Inspiring Future-Ready leaders

The faculty’s vision is to be the leading immersive engineering education experience, fostering a learning environment where diverse critical thinkers, problem solvers, and innovators solve the grand challenges of a constantly changing world.Ìý

The faculty already graduates collaborative, community-minded, and highly skilled engineers who help grow our economy, improve systems, and create healthier communities. The environment on Sexton Campus draws innovators and start-ups to test products and build companies. The Emera ideaHUB provides specialized supports and programs to launch world-class technology companies that create new economic opportunities. Ìý

Faculty of Engineering researchers take a collaborative approach, working with industry, colleagues across the university, government, and community partners to solve big problems and make a difference, with notable expertise in key areas that align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and government priorities.Ìý

The Bringing Worlds Together campaign will enable the Faculty of Engineering to engage in high-impact research that creates solutions that address climate change, improve health outcomes, and sustain the ocean. The goal is to expand and accelerate research, creating opportunities for students and communities to thrive.

3. Lifting Our Communities

The Bringing Worlds Together campaign will enable the Faculty of Engineering to promote equitable access to engineering for all students, by removing barriers and offering support to youth from equity-deserving groups. This will include amplifying the work of our partners to provide students with opportunities to explore STEM concepts, engage in hands-on learning, and build awareness about engineering as a career.
