Pre‑Application Form for Admission

The Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science invites prospective graduate students to participate in a pre-application process designed to match qualified candidates with potential supervisors. To help us assess your suitability, please complete the form below and upload a single PDF file containing your curriculum vitae (résumé) and transcripts for all completed and ongoing degrees. Ensure that your transcripts include your university’s grading scale.

Important:
Pre-applications are not reviewed during the summer term (May 1st to August 31st).  Pre-application should be submitted after September 1st.

Please note that although the Faculty of Graduate Studies requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.3 scale) for admission, the Department will typically only consider candidates with GPAs above 3.5.

Once your pre-application has been submitted, we encourage you to reach out to potential supervisors directly. Formal admission into the program depends on securing a thesis supervisor and completing the formal application process. After your pre-application is reviewed, we will advise you on whether to proceed with a formal application.
