ILA Coding Program

The ILA Coding Program is designed to provide hands-on computer programming skill to African Nova Scotian youth ages 14 to 20 years old. Its purpose is to build knowledge and skills while encouraging participation in higher education and equipping students for potential employment or the pursuit of entrepreneurship in the technology field. Sessions are held in schools, the ILA Makerspace, or community centres/ libraries within proximity to African Nova Scotian communities. Lessons are structured to provide theoretical content, hands-on practice projects, group work, self-directed study (through the development and demonstration of an independent project), and other experiential learning activities.
