This award for admission to the Ph.D. program provides financial support to outstanding Canadian and International students with a demonstrated record of academic success in their undergraduate and early graduate studies.

J. Ewart Blanchard Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. J. Ewart Blanchard, 1921 - 2003. Dr. Blanchard was an early Physics pioneer in Nova Scotia. He was the first geophysicist appointed to Dalhousie’s Physics Department and received an Honorary Degree from ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøin 2000. One or more scholarships will be awarded each fall to students enrolled in the degree programs of either the Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science or the Department of Earth Sciences who have achieved academic excellence and best exemplifies the qualities of initiative, experimental skill, leadership, and enthusiasm for Geophysics.

Lewis H. King Quaternary Research Fund
The purpose of the fund is:Ìý To support research in quaternary geology and geomorphology of Canada and its adjoining offshore regions at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.Ìý Dr. King holds the view that these disciplines are fundamental to an understanding of Canada's geology, and that Canadians should be particularly interestedÌý in pursuing these areas of study because of the wide-spread quaternary deposits in our country.

Marcos Zentilli Graduate Travel Prize
In honour of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøEmeritus Professor of Economic Geology, Marcos was a member of the Department of Earth Sciences (Geology) fron 1973-2005. A pioneer in apatite fission-track geochemistry and beloved mentor, he shaped the livesÌý and careers of many ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøgeologists. The prize is awarded to the best poster at EES' Annual Graduate Student Poster Presentation Event and meant to helpÌý the recipient with the expenses of attending a conference.
