Specimen examination
Dalhousie's Oral Pathology Laboratory provides diagnostic histopathology and cytology services to dentists practising throughout the Atlantic provinces and Canada. The laboratory receives and processes more than 700 specimens each year.
Oral pathology faculty members in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Sciences examine and diagnose all specimens. The Oral Pathology Laboratory employs one histotechnologist and one laboratory assistant for routine histology, immunohistochemistry, and special procedures.
