Pathway to Stay in Nova Scotia


Preparing international students for employment

In partnership withÌý, and with the support from theÌý,ÌýºÚÁϳԹÏÍøÌýandÌýÌýhave teamed up to deliver a program called "Pathway to Stay", which is focused on career readiness.

Pathway to Stay is a free, non-credit program open to all NSCC and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøundergraduate and graduate international students. The project will involve the 3 following interconnected work-integrated learning components, whose content is developed by :

  • Workshops: will provide students with the opportunity to focus on their career development goals and sharpen their skills and build their toolkit. These workshops will prepare students for the bootcamps and showcases. (Each workshop takes approximately 1-2 hours)
  • Bootcamps: events to practice and improve students' job-seeking skills and become more confident with networking and personal interactions. Students will also work on presentation skills, branding, networking, and employer research. (Each bootcamp takes approximately 2-3 hours)
  • Student & Employer Showcases (Winter 2024 cohort only)

Participating students can select from the list of workshops, bootcamps, and showcases (see ‘upcoming schedule’ below). To complete the program, students must join/view at least 10hrs of Pathway to Stay sessions. Students can select which sessions to join/view depending on their own availability. Online sessions will be recorded so that students can view them later.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Pathway to Stay program,Ìýyou must be an international student registered in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.

  • Receive a certificate of completion (Minimum of 10 hours of participation required)

Program Registration

Registration is now open for the Pathway to Stay Program for NSCC and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøStudentsÌýÌý(Note: the registration form takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete)

Make sure to register early to make the best of the range of workshops available to you. However, even if you join the program after the first few events, you can still meet your required hours of participation (All sessions will be recorded and will be available to you).Ìý
