Committed to service
The Rosemary Gill Award was established in 1995 in memory of Dr. Rosemary Gill, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and Director of Student Health Services from 1985 to 1991. Dr. Gill exemplified a high level of commitment to service to students, both in terms of her responsibilities as a physician on campus, and as a member of the Student Services staff and the larger University community.
Recipients are selected by a committee consisting of the President; the Vice-Provost, Student Affairs; a member of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Governors; and a student appointed by the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøStudent Union. The University community is invited to submit nominations, in writing, but the selection committee is also free to identify candidates itself.
The Rosemary Gill Award is a plaque presented to the recipient at a reception hosted by the President. In addition, a permanent plaque bearing the names of annual recipients is displayed in the Henry Hicks Academic Administration Building.
