12‑month limited‑term Instructor, Department of Biology

The Department of Biology in the Faculty of Science at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, invites applications for a 12- month, limited term appointment (100% FTE) as Instructor commencing July 1, 2023.

The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing courses in both the Department of Biology and the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøIntegrated Science Program (DISP), in all three terms (fall, winter, spring). In the fall (2023) term, the candidate will teach both the lecture and lab components of the Biology curriculum in DISP, in addition to assisting with the coordination of the field trips, supporting student advising, and other program-related initiatives. In the winter term, the candidate will instruct the Ecology Biology lectures of Biology 1011, Principles of Biology Part II (7 lectures total), as well as the 3000-level Introduction to Conservation Biology course (BIOL 3065). The successful candidate will also contribute to the Becoming a Scientist program in the winter term, focusing on scientist leadership and outreach. In the spring/summer term, the candidate will contribute to the delivery a newly developed online course offering in Biology (focused on either Cellular Biology or Genetics).

Job candidates must have a PhD in Biology and teaching and/or research experience in ecology, conservation biology, and cell biology or genetics. Experience leading and/or coordinating biology/ecology field work, online course delivery, and science outreach, will be considered assets.

Salary will be according to qualifications and experience, as determined by the Collective Agreement between the Board of Governors of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøFaculty Association.
