Athletics and Recreation is once again collecting non-perishable food items for Feed Nova Scotia as a part of the Stuff-a-Bus program.
One in six Nova Scotia households are food insecure. More than 4,000 Nova Scotians, or 4 per cent, of the province’s population were supported by food banks in 2020. Black households in Canada experience food insecurity at a rate of 3.5 times more than white households. Approximately 30 per cent of Indigenous households are food insecure compared to about 11 per cent white households.
Faculty, staff, students, and members of our community can drop off a non-perishable food items in the front lobby of Dalplex from Friday, Nov. 18 until the close of Dalplex on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Feel free to collect within your unit/office and bring over all donations at once.
