The School of Dental Hygiene, Faculty of Dentistry, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, is seeking applications for a 2-year limited term dental hygiene educator position at the rank of Instructor and at anÌýFTEÌýof 0.5, 10 months a year commencing, May 1, 2021, with the possibility of renewal. (Note: 10 month term includes May-June; and September to April. July and August are not included in the term).
Responsibilities will include didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical teaching in all aspects of the School of Dental Hygiene programs, and those aspects integrated with the Dentistry programs. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist and must be eligible for licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Nova Scotia with authorization to administer local anesthetic. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or be enrolled in a Master program with intent to complete within 2 years. The candidate must have completed at least one course or certificate in teaching methodology. Candidates with experience in didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical teaching in a dental hygiene program are preferred. Education and/or experience in online distance education delivery models including course design, implementation, and evaluation are strongly preferred. A knowledge of dental software will be considered an asset. Demonstration of strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
