Part‑Time Academic Posting ‑ Department of Philosophy

A part-time academic is required to teach PHIL 2120.03, Philosophical Topics in Theory and Popular Culture in summer
term A (May 10-June 28, 2021), Monday-Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. (time can be amended). The part-time academic’s duties involve full responsibility for the class including but not limited to: class lectures, office hours, development of course outlines, preparation and grading of assignments, tests and exams. Due to the current Covid-19 outbreak and ongoing social distance protocols, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍømay be moving this class to an online teaching format. Experience with teaching in an online environment is preferred, and candidates must be willing to teach online. All instructors hired to teach online will be supported by Dalhousie’s Centre for Learning and Teaching, and Academic Technology Services (support@dal.ca), to deliver their courses online. More

Ph.D. or ABD (in Philosophy). Teaching and research experience in the subject matter of the course, graduate theses
written in the subject matter of the course, publications or presentations on topics falling within the subject matter of the course,
are assets. Previous experience teaching Philosophy at the university level is required.
