Job Summary & Key Responsibilities |
The instructor is responsible for providing support for the online course in both the lecture and lab components running from September 2020 to December 2020. This includes assisting with test and quiz development withinÌýLON-CAPA, marking in both the lecture and lab components, MS Teams Live tutorial workshop support and holding virtual office/resource centre hours with students via MS Teams. This position reports to the Dean of the Faculty of Science through the Chair of the Department of Chemistry. |

Qualifications/Requirements of Position |
A minimum of an MSc in Chemistry; previous experience providing support for teaching at a University level is required; experience providing support for teaching 1st-year university chemistry in both the lecture and laboratory environment is strongly preferred; experience providing support for teaching within the Concepts in Chemistry program is also strongly preferred. Job Summary & Key Responsibilities |
Responsibilities for this position include working closely with the course instructor (and teaching assistants) in preparation and delivery of Chem 3201. This will include preparation of course materials notes/powerpoint slides/ video recording/editing, preparation and marking of student assignments/ midterms, and providing weekly live tutorials with students using Microsoft Teams throughout the winter term. This position reports to the Dean of the Faculty of Science through the Chair of the Department of Chemistry. |
Qualifications/Requirements of Position |
A minimum of a BSc (MSc or PhD preferred) in Chemistry or related field. Experience and advanced knowledge in Analytical Spectroscopy and Separations is required. Experience providing teaching support for classroom or laboratory teaching at the university level is required, with experience at providing teaching support for advanced analytical chemistry class preferred. Experience in data processing using Microsoft Excel will be an asset. The preferred applicant must have proven experience in working independently (as well as with a group) and meeting workplace objectives.
