Lecturer for NURS2750.03 – Health & Healing II: Pathophysiology and Therapeutics (Winter term of the academic year 2019-2020)
This course focuses on integrating knowledge of disease, diagnosis and person-centered management as a key to successful nursing practice. Specific disease processes related to body systems are described and mechanisms of therapeutic options for management are evaluated. Evidence to support use of pharmacological, non-pharmacological, alternative and complementary treatments are evaluated.
This is a 3-credit hour course and lectures are held twice weekly.
This appointment runs from January 1, 2020 until April 30, 2020. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topics
- Teach course content
- Assessment and evaluation of student learning
- Use of Brightspace for course delivery
- Responding to student queries about coursework
- Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace
- Participation in course discussions within the program
- Develop and administer examinations
- Submission of grades
- Follow up with students as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, with a strong background in pharmacology including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and pathophysiology. Prior teaching experience an asset.Ìý PhD preferred.

Lecturer for NURS4353.03 – Multi-dimensional aspects of Cancer (Winter term of the academic year 2019-2020)
Building on Exploring Concepts in Oncology, this course will challenge learners to consider the comprehensive care of a range of health and illness needs of individuals at risk for or living with cancer within a dynamic and changing system. The course reflects a critical analysis of the existing theoretical and evidence-informed perspectives influencing health related behaviours within the context of cancer at the individual, organizational and global levels.
This is a 3-credit hour course delivered online.

Lecturer for NURS4472.03 – Acute and Critical Care Nursing (Winter term of the academic year 2019-2020)
With the focus on critical care nursing in the intensive care and emergency room areas, students will further develop, critically analyze, and apply knowledge gained in previous courses with a focus on the management of critically ill clients. Emphasis includes working with clients across the lifespan and interprofessional relationships within specialty practice.
This is a 3-credit hour course delivered online.

Instructor for NURS4715.06 Exploratory Nursing Practice (Winter term of the academic year 2019-2020)
Students engage in a broad range of clinical, research or theoretical activities, under the direction of faculty or clinical preceptor/facilitator to complete a project relevant to nursing practice.Ìý These learning experiences will assist the student to understand the complexity of the integrated nursing role across a range of settings.
This is a 6-credit hour course. Simulation labs are held Fridays for the first seven weeks of the term.
This appointment runs from January 1, 2020 through April 30, 2020. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies.
