Position Title: RESEARCH ASSISTANT
Start date: ASAP
End date: 200 hours over 10 - month period
Location: ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø
Remuneration: $21.50 per hour
Workload: ~5 hours per week (negotiable – see description)

Description

Reporting to the Primary investigators, Dr. Martine Durier-Copp and Dr. Joyline Makani, within the Centre for Advanced Management Education, Faculty of Management, the Research Assistant will participate in a research project focused on Student Deep Learning and Virtual Teams.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct a Literature Review
• Conduct a review of current study instruments
• Data Collection and Analysis
• Help in creating study survey
• Coordinate team work activities, ensuring adherence to strict timelines.
• Compile, manage and analyze data-sets from the study (both qualitative and quantitative).
• Draft reports and manuscripts for publication in collaboration with Primary Investigators

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree, or be in the final stages of completing a graduate level degree, which included training in mixed methods research. Demonstrated proficiency in experimental and research methodology, dataset management, and graphical and statistical analysis is required. Also required is experience in preparing reports as well as manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals. Candidates should have some experience with various virtual communication methods as well as demonstrated proficiency in MS Office suite, SAS and Minitab. Although listed as a 10 month appointment, the bulk of this position’s time will occur at the beginning and end of the 10 month period with the incumbent setting their own hours. The RA will have flexibility in terms of task assignment. The RA must be willing to work to deadlines, with the expectations that at times, this might mean working beyond standard work hours. The ideal candid! ate will commit to the project and project outcomes. The first month of the position is probationary.
