What if you didnt get paid on time? Its not something many of us think about and k is trying to change that.
Here at Dalhousie, there are 11 members of the Payroll & Benefits Team who are responsible for ensuring we all get paid. In 2013, the team paid $374 million in wages and taxable benefits (total payroll) to more than 6,000 university employees.
National Payroll Week is a great way for payroll professionals to be recognized for all their hard work, says Jenny White, manager, Payroll & Benefits. Most employees don't think about the payroll professionals who prepare their pay cheques unless something goes wrong, so it is really nice to get positive recognition for one week a year.
This week, take time to say hello to a payroll staff member or thank them for all that they do for you and the university. The Payroll & Benefits Office, a part of the Human Resources team, is located in Room 150, Henry Hicks Academic & Administration Building.
