Every year the Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic facilitates the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøRhodes Scholarship Application process with the support of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøRhodes Scholarship Committee to select and coach eligible applicants who seek selection for Dalhousie’s endorsement to the Maritime Regional Rhodes Scholarship competition. A Rhodes Scholarship is tenable at the University of Oxford with election to the Scholarship normally for two years depending on the degree programme pursued by the scholar. Two scholarships are awarded annually to the Maritime Region. We hope, as last year, that ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøsends another scholarship winner to Oxford in 2015.
We encourage faculty, Deans, sports and performing arts coaches to help identify eligible students and encourage them to apply.
The first step for interested students is to submit required documents to begin the internal screening process. The selection criteria that govern this process are intellectual and academic attainment, integrity of character, ability and energy to lead and use their talents to fulfill their potential. ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø candidates wishing to apply for the 2014 Rhodes Scholarship (for 2015 academic study year) should submit the following documents to Katherine Rudolph (katherine.rudolph@dal.ca).
•   Statement of general interest
•   Curriculum Vitae: A factual list of principal activities and honours while in university, including scholarships, prizes, awards, offices held, athletic and/or performance (dance, music, etc.) record, interests and activities.
•   Unofficial transcripts of all institutions attended
Only eligible candidates will be contacted by the Rhodes coordinator about the next steps in the application process after this initial review.
Please submit these documents by September 15 to:
