Women’s Basketball
The Women’s Basketball team came back from the winter break on Friday with a game at Saint Mary’s. After falling in the first quarter, they came back strong in the second with some help from Kaitlyn Ferrier’s 6 points and Sydney Guker-Wickie's 9 points. Unfortunately, the comeback was not strong enough and the team still took a 92-63 point loss. The team came back ready to fight on Saturday with a game at home against Saint Mary’s. Kaitlyn Ferrier and Sydney Guker-Wickie were on a roll again with 17 and 22 points respectively. Yet this was not enough, as Saint Mary’s took the win 84-73.
Men’s Basketball
The Men’s Basketball team played at Saint Mary’s on Friday; they were ready to fight! The team was falling short mid game with a score of 52-38, but they picked it up in the second half of the game. Gade Damey tried to push in the fourth quarter, scoring 12 points, making it a close one. Yet Saint Mary’s took the win, 91-82. The team came back on Saturday with a game at home against Saint Mary’s. Malcome Christie and Nginyu Ngala pushed in the first half with 10 points each, setting up the team with a solid lead. The second half was close, but Saint Mary’s took the win, 83-78.
Men’s Ice Hockey
The Men’s Ice Hockey team played in Moncton on Friday night. There was no score until the second period, where Jarrett Baker found the net to tie it up with assists from Shaun Miller and Joseph Serpa. In the third, Alec Belanger pushed to give the team the 2-1 lead and Nicholas Chenard played a strong game to make sure Saint Mary’s could not catch up. ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøtook the win, 2-1! The team played again on Saturday at UNB. The first period brough Dal down 4-1, and they could not get back up from that. UNB took a big win of 7-3, keeping their undefeated record strong.
Women’s Ice Hockey
The Women’s Ice Hockey team had a solid weekend. They started off in in Fredericton played St. Thomas. The game was tied 1-1 going into the third period, with a point from Brooklyn Paisley in the second. Yet Olivia Eustace came in strong for the third period, scoring 2 unassisted points to give the team a 3-2 win. Grace Beer made an impressive 37 saves, helping lead Dal to the win. On Sunday the team headed to Charlottetown to face UPEI. Isabella Weist started off the game strong, finding the net with an assist from Lexie Small to make the score 1-0. Grace Beer played another solid game, with 31 saves. This held Dal to a 1-0 win to end an undefeated weekend!
Women’s Volleyball
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøWomen’s Volleyball team played Acadia at Stu Aberdeen Court on Saturday. Acadia played a very strong game taking the sets 25-14, 25-16 and 25-18. Acadia took the 3-0 win.
