Last week, on February 28, students came out in droves to write thank-you notes to Dal donors as part of #dalTHANKS. Hundreds of cards were collected which and will be shared with alumni who have made a gift to the university in the last five years.
“Thank you so much for hosting this event," said one student who popped by between classes. "I really appreciate what you folks are doing because the scholarships and bursaries I’ve received are the reason that I’m able to study at Dal."
And it’s that sentiment that serves as the impetus for #dalTHANKS.
“The entire ϳԹcommunity benefits from philanthropy, though it’s our students who experience the greatest impact from things like scholarships, bursaries, state-of-the art learning spaces and experiential learning opportunities,” says Julia Watt, executive director, Advancement Marketing and Donor Relations. “This initiative is about providing them an opportunity to express thanks, if they chose, in their own words to Dal donors.”
