Savanna Jordan, Track & Field
Second-year runner Savanna Jordan is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Savanna led the Tigers to their 30th consecutive AUS championship title.
She swept the women’s distance events, earning gold medals in the 3000m, 1500m and 1000m races. She also earned a silver medal as a member of the Tigers 4x800m relay team.
At the end of the two-day event, she collected four gold and one silver medal to be named the women’s championship MVP.
A kinesiology major, Savanna is from Calgary, Alta.

Matthew Coolen, Track & Field
Fourth-year sprinter Matthew Coolen is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
Matthew led the Tigers to their 17th AUS conference championship in 18 years.
He won two gold medals in the 60m and 60 m hurdles and added a silver as a member of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø4x200m relay team. He broke his own AUS record in the 60m hurdles and is currently ranked first in the 60m race and second in 60m hurdles heading into the national championships in two weeks.
Matthew was named the men’s championship MVP and the men’s track athlete of the year.
A native of Halifax, N.S., Matthew is an engineering student.
