(Halifax, N.S.) - ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø presents our MUSCLE MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 4, 2018.
Mieke DuMont, Volleyball
Fourth-year outside hitter Mieke DuMont is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Mieke led the Tigers to a three-match sweep of the Memorial Sea-Hawks at home over the weekend.
In Friday night’s 3-0 win, Mieke had 12 kills and 10 digs for 14.5 points.
She notched a match-high 20 kills and 19 digs in Saturday night’s 3-1 victory and earned Subway Player of the Game honours for her efforts.
On Sunday, Mieke added another 16 kills to her weekend tally, plus 19 digs and two blocks for 20.0 points.
Over the course of the weekend, she amassed 48 kills and digs, plus four aces and 4.5 blocks for a total of 56.5 points.
Mieke is currently ranked second in the AUS in kills/set with 3.17 and third in total kills with 165.
A kinesiology student, Mieke is from Kamloops, B.C.

Jonathan Cyr, Hockey
First-year forward Jonathan Cyr is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
Jonathan led the Tigers to two wins over Moncton and StFX last week.
He scored the game-winning goal in the Tigers 2-1 win over the Moncton Aigles Bleus Wednesday night to secure the Tigers a berth in this year’s AUS championship. He was awarded Subway Player of the Game honours for his efforts.
In Friday’s 7-3 win over the StFX X-Men, he scored a goal and added two assists earning the second star of the night.
Jonathan is on a five-game scoring streak, notching at least one goal in each of his last five games. He has eight goals and 14 points so far this season,
A native of Ottawa, Ont., Jonathan is a arts student.
