Rebecca Haworth, Track and Field

Fourth-year high jumper Rebecca Haworth is this week’s G2 Female Athlete of the Week.

Haworth led the Tigers to their 25th consecutive AUS women’s track and field championship title this past weekend at the Université de Moncton. She captured her fourth high jump title, with a leap of 1.78m, setting a new AUS and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍørecord. She is currently ranked second in the CIS.

She was also named the AUS female student-athlete community service award winner for the fourth year in a row for her outstanding dedication to the community through many events, including the Special Tigers Day events.

A neuroscience student, Rebecca is from Waverley, NS

David Sharpe, Swimming

Fifth-year swimmer David Sharpe is this week’s G2 Male Athlete of the Week.

Sharpe helped the Tigers to a 10th place finish at the CIS championships this past weekend at the University of Toronto. He collected two more medals at the event, giving him a total of 13 (three gold, five silver and five bronze) during his five-year career with the Tigers.

He claimed silver in the 50m backstroke and added a bronze in the 200m butterfly, setting a new ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøand Nova Scotia record. Sharpe also placed fourth in the 100m backstroke and sixth in the 200m backstroke.

A native of Halifax, NS, David is a science student.
