Success at the AUS Cross Country Championships

The Tigers cross country teams had very successful weekends at the AUS championships in Moncton. Rich Lehman was named the 2013 AUS Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year in only his second year at Dalhousie.

The women came in first place with 27 points, led by a second place finish by Ellen Chappell (23:06.09). Natalie Sachrajda rounded out the podium with a third place finish (23:14.72) while Anna von Maltzahn finished fifth (23:30.24). Brittany MacArthur finished seventh (23:38.09), and Michelle Reddy (24:29.05) and Vanessa Linton (25:07.15) finished 12th and 15th respectively.

Chappell, Sachrajda, von Maltzahn and MacArthur were named AUS All-Stars.

On the men's side, the Tigers finished second behind StFX with 40 points, only eight back of the lead.

Matt McNeil (33:07.67) powered his way to a second place finish to lead the Tigers, and Oliver Hatheway (33:38.34) cracked the top five with a fifth-place finish. Matthias Mueller (34:24.97) came in eighth, while Adam McGregor (35:16.41) and Will Russell (35:25.74) came in 14th and 15th, respectively. Graeme Wach (37:46.94) finished in 30th place.

McNeil and Hatheway were named 2013 AUS All-Stars.
