This morning, shortly after 10 a.m., Eliza Ritchie Hall was evacuated due to a fire. HRM Fire Services were on site quickly. There were no injuries, and minimal damage: drywall, carpet and smoke damage. The 87 students in the building were evacuated safely.
The residence was cleared for students to move back in early in the afternoon. Eight students who live in the Hive area will be temporarily re-assigned while repairs are being completed.
