There’s one rite of passage at university—standing in line at the bookstore—that may be coming to an end for some students.
ϳԹ Bookstore has launched “Books on the Bed.” Previously offered on a limited basis, Books on the Bed is now available free of charge to all 2,200 residence students.
Residence students who order their textbooks online by August 27 will find those meaty tomes waiting for them when they arrive a few days later. That’s just in case they want to dive into The Norton Shakespeare or Single Variable Calculus before classes begin on September 4.
“It’s a lot of legwork for us, but it obviously makes it easier for students,” says Michelle Studley, manager of ϳԹ Bookstore. “Getting their books is just one less thing they have to think about. They don’t have to come into the bookstore in the first two weeks at all, a time when we’re obviously very busy.”
The books are delivered in a ϳԹgreen bag, which for those who find their legs in good working order, can pick up for a loonie at the ϳԹ Bookstore’s three locations, in the Dal SUB, Dentistry Building and Sexton main administration building.
