FHP Achievements ‑ April 2015

Congratulations to our staff, faculty, students and alumni on their recent achievements:

  • Two students from the Faculty of Health Professions were among five recipients of this year's prestigious Board of Governors Award - Kristy MacGregor Bales of the School of Health and Human Performance (Recreation Management) and Randii-Lynn Sullivan of the School of Social Work were recognized for their contributions to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøthrough both academic and extracurricular accomplishments. 
  • Health Professions students were well represented at the - an event celebrating contributions of students to the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøand Halifax communities:
    • Brandy Morrow (Pharmacy) - Residence Life Leader Award
    • Joanna Cohen (Health and Human Performance) - Residence Life Impact Award
    • Sarah MacNeil (Health and Human Performance) - Tigers Live Well@Dal Award
    • Harry Makohoniuk (Social Work) - Certificate of Distinction
    • Christie Silversides (Health and Human Performance) - Certificate of Distinction
  • Amanda Revells, a Masters student in the School of Nursing, has been awarded a Cancer Research Trainee Award through the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute to support her project "Providing Palliative Care to Advanced Cancer Patients in the Emergency Department."  Amanda is supervised by Brenda Sabo (Nursing), Dr. Simon Field (ER Physician), Dr. Erna Snelgrove-Clarke (Nursing) and Dr. Sheri Price (Nursing).
  • Merlinda Weinberg and Carolyn Campbell (Social Work) are the authors of one of the top three most downloaded articles published in Routledge Health & Social Care Journals in 2014.  The article, was published in Journal of Progressive Human Services and is
