Biography

Cecil Snow is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of Corporate Services for Health Association of Nova Scotia. In this role Cecil has chief financial accountability for the operations of the Health Association.  Cecil’s career includes over 20 years working in senior leadership roles at the Nova Scotia Health Authority and Capital Health.  Before these roles Cecil worked in the Long-Term Health Care sector for 8 years as the Controller at Shannex Healthcare Services. 

Cecil is a past sessional lecturer for the School of Health Administration at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (HESA 4005, HESA 5350) in the Health Diploma Program and the Master of Health Administration Program.

Research & Related information

In partnership with clinicians, physicians and administrative leaders, Cecil was a champion in the implementation of the case costing system within the Nova Scotia Health. Cecil co-lead (Physician & Clinical Director) an initiative at Capital Health to deliver multi-year business planning.  This initiative provided a poster presentation at the 2011 National HealthCare Leadership Conference (A Better Tomorrow: Capital Health’s Multi-Year Business Planning) held in Whistler, BC.  In addition, Cecil has held leadership roles on past provincial initiatives, including the Provincial District Health Authorities SAP ERP implementation and the Provincial Merged Services project (Financial Services). Cecil is active on many boards including: Board Director & Treasurer – Immigration Society Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS), Board Director – Nova Scotia Health Organizations Protective Association (HOPA), Trustee & Investment Committee Member - The Nova Scotia Health Employees' Pension Plan (NSHEPP).
