Please join us for the launch of:

The Daughters of Immigrants: A Multidisciplinary Study, co-edited by Dr. Asha Jeffers and Dr. Catherine Bryan.

This launch features a talk by contributor Yareli Castro Sevilla. Castro Sevilla is a PhD candidate in American Studies at Harvard University and a lecturer at the University of San Diego. Her dissertation titled “Imaginarios de Sinidad: Culture, Identity and Memory of Chinese Mexicans in Contemporary México” is the first comprehensive study of contemporary Chinese Mexican communities in México. Combining historical and anthropological methods, “Imaginarios de Sinidad” takes a migrant-centered approach to tell the stories of the multiple spaces inhabited and imagined by Chinese Mexicans.

She will be sharing her work with us over a light lunch so please RSVP to asha.jeffers@dal.ca.

November 8th, 12pm-1:30 in the McCain Building, Room 2130.
