Where are you from: Stephenville, Newfoundland.
What program will youÌýbe doingÌýat Dal?
In the upcomng fallÌýsemester, I will be enrolled in the Pre-veterinary Medicine Program offered at Dalhousie's Agricultural Campus.
Why did you choose this program?
I selected Dalhousie's Pre-Veterinary program because of itsÌýdiversity in teaching methods, including hands on-experience with both larger breeds of farm animals and domestic companions.Ìý
Why did you choose to complete your program at Dal's Faculty of Agriculture?
I knew that pursuing the Pre-veterneinary program offered at Dals' Faculty of Agriculture would allow me to have the best possible educational experience with a great sense of community. This program is unique with itsÌýfield work opportunities for students and theÌýopportunityÌýto network with certified veterinarians.Ìý
What are you looking forward to the most in your first year?
In my first year at Dal'sÌýAgriculturalÌýcampus, I'm looking forward to broadening my practical field experience to include working with farm animals as I have previous experience working with marine mammals, marine invertebrates as well as domestic companions. I worked as a Student Assistant at the Ocean Science Research Facility in the the Seal research Lab. During my time there I was in charge of training three Harp seals,ÌýmaintainingÌýtheir health and well-being as well as recording data on their memory, vision and mental capabilities.
What do you hope to do with your education once you graduate?
Upon graduating from this program, I will be applying to the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI In hopes ofÌýpursuingÌýa career in Veterinary medicine.Ìý
