Mitacs Globalink Research Awards

Mitacs Globalink Research Awards help faculty and students at Canadian universities deepen the research links between Canadian and international educational institutions. ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøfaculty in any discipline may submit applications on behalf of their senior undergraduate or graduate students, to the following calls:

For students registered at Canadian universities to do research abroad:

  • Open to senior undergraduates and graduate students
  • 12- to 24-week projects at accredited universities in France
  • $10,000 award 

  • Open to graduate students
  • 12- to 24-week projects at an Inria Research Centre in France
  • $5,000 award plus a monthly stipend

  • Open to senior undergraduate and graduate students
  • 12-week projects at one of seven Indian Institutes of Technology
  • $5,000 award plus a local grant equivalent to $5,000

  • Open to senior undergraduates and graduate students
  • 12- to 24-week projects at accredited universities in Tunisia
  • $7,000 award

Awards are also available for French graduate students to conduct research at Canadian universities:

  • Open to M2 and PhD students in France
  • 12–24-week research projects at Canadian universities
  • $10,000 award

  • Open to PhD students at Inria Research Centres in France
  • 12–24-week research projects at Canadian universities
  • $5,000 award, a PhD stipend, and airfare

Any ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøfaculty member interested in these opportunities is asked to contact the International Research Facilitator (jennifer.morawiecki@dal.ca) for more information and support in developing an application, and to facilitate the necessary institutional signatures.

Note that ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøhas established an internal timeline for these awards, and it is expected that students receiving these awards will take up their placements starting in late spring or summer 2016.
