Joanne Mills, Registered Psychologist
Joanne has worked within post-secondary student mental health since 1997, starting in her home province of Newfoundland and Labrador with the College of the North Atlantic before moving to Nova Scotia.
She worked as a Psychologist at Mount Saint Vincent University for 16 years before coming to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøStudent Health and Wellness in 2014. She has spent her entire career as a Psychologist helping students navigate the sometimes bumpy road of post-secondary education using techniques from many psychological frameworks including CBT, DBT, and ACT and through the lens of a humanist/feminist perspective.
Joanne has been involved with the profession of Psychology in Nova Scotia throughout her career with active participation with the Association of Psychologist of NS as well as through the NS Board of Examiners in Psychology.
After work she enjoys family life raising two teenagers with her partner, and looking after her fur baby. She enjoys hiking and the ocean, sprinkled with a good book or series binge on Netflix (always open to recommendations).
